Knitting a global team together at Superscape offsites

As a fast-growing global team, we believe that building meaningful connections with each other is a must for smooth collaboration. Our all-hands offsites, which we call Superscapes, are a perfect opportunity for our people to bond with old and new colleagues.
Organizing an offsite for over 300 people is a big investment, but it's one that we gladly make in our people and culture. We believe that doing so helps us work better as a team, which, in turn, positively impacts our business.
In our third Superscape this August, we gathered in Helsinki for a week of workshops, training, and cross-team activities. The week culminated in an outdoor festival in the sunny Finnish archipelago. Take a peek ๐
Connection and community
Superscapes were born from the need to tight-knit our globally growing team. They're an opportunity for the new team members to soak up the unique Supermetrics culture and for everyone to deepen their sense of belonging to the team.

One of the biggest benefits of all-hands offsites is the sharing of ideas between teams. Spending time with colleagues from different parts of the organization strengthens cross-team collaboration and communication, both essential elements of innovation.
Now that we offer a flexible work-from-home policy and hire fully remote team members in 10+ countries, Superscapes have become more important than ever. Remote colleagues cherish catching up in person and collaborating in real-time, and it helps them work better together afterward.
A good balance of work and fun
During Superscape week, teams host workshops and knowledge-sharing sessions. We invite our customers to share how they use our products to help our people see the impact of their work in practice. There are also opportunities for professional development. Last time, our entire Sales team attended a two-day, in-person sales training.
Company offsites can often be very work-heavy, but we have wanted to make plenty of time for everyone to kick back and get to know each other as people, not just coworkers.

Globally dispersed teams get to bond over team days and dinners. Groups get mixed up in cross-team activities, like beach olympics, fat-biking excursions, flower-crown workshops, sightseeing tours, and amusement park visits. We pride ourselves on our ability to throw a good party, and no Superscape is complete without an epic party (or two).
As we continue to grow, we keep taking these intentional steps to nurture the sense of community and togetherness within the team.
